Befrienders
What is the Befriender Ministry?
Befrienders are lay people who extend the love of Christ through a ministry of listening, caring presence and gentle support. They listen with compassion, without giving advice or imposing solutions.
What kind of individuals ask Befrienders to visit?
There are many situations in life that may cause someone to seek the comfort of talking to a caring friend. Some may be new parents or new members of the congregation. Some are unemployed, are going through a divorce, or have lost a loved one. Perhaps they are hospitalized or seriously ill. Others may be experiencing a spiritual crisis. A wide range of individuals ask for a Befriender to visit.
Does the Befriender relate to the Friend's family?
The Befriender does not and cannot take the place of family and friends. The Befriender is just a supportive visitor in addition to family or other contacts. The Befriender does not discuss the relationship with anyone.
If you would like to meet with a Befriender, contact Pastor Braun at (651)484-5142.
